A Dangerous Dog
BYLAW NO. 2007 – 103
The Council of the Town of Burstall in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
Certain Breeds Prohibited – Interpretation:
In this bylaw the words:
“Pit Bull” shall refer to any dog that is a pure bred Pit Bull Terrier or
and cross breed of a Pit Bull Terrier that can be identified by its physical
characteristics by a Veterinarian licensed to practice in the Province of
Saskatchewan including American Pit Bull, American Pit Bull Terrier or
Bull Terrier.
“Rottweiler” shall refer to any dog that is a pure bred Rottweiler or any
cross breed of a Rottweiler that can be identified by its physical
characteristics by a Veterinarian licensed to practice in the Province of
Saskatchewan.
“Coming into force” shall mean the date upon which this bylaw receives a
third reading and is adopted by the Council of the Town of Burstall.
Upon coming into force of this bylaw:
Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are hereby prohibited dog breeds within the Town of Burstall. Subject to Subsection 2a, no person living within the Town of Burstall may possess or harbour a Pit Bull or a Rottweiler as identified in Section 1.
Any person currently living in the Town of Burstall who, on or before the date of the coming into force of this bylaw, is the owner of a dog that is identified in Section 1 is permitted to keep the dog until it dies.
Any person moving into the Town of Burstall after the date of this bylaw coming into force is not allowed to possess or harbour any dog identified in Section 1.
Any person who is deemed to be guilty of an infraction under Section 2 of this bylaw is liable upon summary conviction to a fine of $500.00 plus, $100.00 for each day thereafter that the person remains guilty of the infraction.

Bylaw No. 1979-29 is hereby repealed
